The bar charts show the number of males and females in Higher education in Britain in 3 periods -> 1970/71,1980/81, 1990/91 and whether they were studying part time or full time.
In 1970/71, the number of males studying full time was around 180 thousand. The students studying part time in that year were nearly 1.1 million. In 1980/81 the number of males studying full-time was about 220 thousand. The students studying part time in that year were about 780 thousand. Finally in 1990/91, the number of males studying full time was approximately 350 thousand. The students studying part time in that year were approximately 750 thousand.
Therefore, we can observe, full time education was increasing but part time education was decreasing among the males in the 3 time periods.
In 1980/81, the number of females studying full time was nearly 180 thousand. The students studying part time in that year were nearly 740 thousand. In 1980/81, the number of females studying full-time was roughly 300 thousand. The students studying part time in that year were roughly 780 thousand. Finally in 1990/91, the number of females studying full time was approximately 400 thousand. The students studying part time in that year were approximately 1 million. Therefore, both full time and part time education was increasing among the females in the three time period.
In summary, full time education was increasing for both males and females. But, part time education was increasing among the females while it was decreasing among the males.
