The line graphs demonstrate steel production and its demand
in million tonnes and the level of recruitment in the steel industry in the
United Kingdom.
In general, although steel production was much higher than
the actual market requirement it eventually continued to decline quite
surprisingly owing to no remarkable increase in the level of consumption in the
year 2010. Similarly, employment levels were also adjusted to production
scenario
during the same year.
As much as production and demand are concerned the amount of
steel manufactured in the UK commenced at 4 million tones in January 2010
whereas the actual market requisition at that time was only 2 million tonnes.
The production levelled off over approximately four months following a moderate
growth of a million tones. The production levelled off over approximately four
months following a moderate growth of a million tonnes during February.
Manufacturing of this product continuing to decline for another month and eventually
reached a little over 3 million tonnes during February. Manufacturing of this
product continuing to decline for another month and eventually reached a little
over 3 million tonnes. Thereafter the level of steel production soared to
around 5 million tonnes for a short period. It however, plummeted to well below
a million tonnes in the end of the year. On the other hand the real consumer
demand fluctuated at nearly 2 million tonnes during the first three quarters
and continued to fall further for another month. Nevertheless, it sharply grew
over the last month to finish the year at 2 million tonnes.
The employment of workers began 5 thousand in January 2010
and climbed to about 5500 within a month. There was a steep decline of
approximately 2500 employees over the next month followed by fluctuations
without any remarkable growth in the recruitment of people until August. Worker
numbers progressively fell to nearly a thousand in December.
